Richard left school in 1972 and after a year in France studying at the University of Rennes he joined the Army in 1974 and graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 1975. On leaving the Army Richard joined Towry Law & Co. in 1982 as a trainee and has since worked in the UK, Guernsey, Dubai and Hong Kong as a private banker, stockbroker, fund manager, compliance officer and corporate banker. Richard was with the Royal Bank of Canada for 12 years and has also worked for Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, the stockbrokers Fiske and Company and he was managing director at Charteris Treasury Portfolio Managers Ltd before joining GHC Capital Markets Ltd at the beginning of 2005 where he is Head of Asset Management. He is a Fellow of the Securities Institute and Chartered Wealth Manager.
